BeforeAgree
Privacy Policy

BeforeAgree is designed to help people understand terms, privacy policies, consent language, subscriptions, and other agreements before accepting them. This policy describes the information the BeforeAgree beta may process or transmit.
Local Rules analysis
Local Rules is the recommended beta analysis engine. When Local Rules is used, agreement text is analyzed in the browser and is not sent to an external AI provider for analysis.
Beta analytics
If beta analytics are enabled, BeforeAgree may send a randomly generated anonymous installation ID, the extension version, a timestamp, and limited interaction events such as activation, analysis started, and analysis completed. Beta analytics are not intended to include browsing history, analyzed page URLs, page or agreement text, questions, findings, or analysis results.
Beta analytics can be disabled in BeforeAgree.
Beta feedback
Feedback is sent only when you choose to submit it. Feedback may include your usefulness selection, issue categories, an optional comment, the extension version, an anonymous installation ID, and a timestamp. The analyzed page URL is included only if you explicitly choose to include it.
Optional AI providers
BeforeAgree can offer optional AI engines such as Gemini or Ollama. When you choose an AI provider, information needed for that request may be sent to that provider or, for a locally configured Ollama instance, to the local service you configured. This can include agreement content and questions you submit for AI analysis. Those providers operate under their own privacy terms and settings.
User-initiated analysis
BeforeAgree does not intentionally analyze every page you browse automatically. Agreement review is initiated by the user.
Sale of data and advertising profiles
BalanceTrail Software does not sell BeforeAgree browsing data and does not use BeforeAgree data to build advertising profiles.
Server logs
As with ordinary websites and hosting services, infrastructure providers may maintain standard server or access logs for security, reliability, and operational purposes. BeforeAgree's application telemetry is designed separately from those infrastructure logs.
Data minimization and beta changes
BeforeAgree is in beta. We aim to collect the minimum information needed to operate and improve the beta. If the product's data practices materially change, this policy should be updated before those changes are deployed.
